El Tule Volumen II CD Release Party at The Copa
on Saturday, November 14, 2009
Date & Time: Saturday, November 14, 2009
10:00 PM to 2:00 AM
Special Guest: Salsa Candela and DJ Chorizo Funk
Plus Door Prizes and Giveaways!
El Tule has a new CD and wants to celebrate the event with family, friends and the fans. Volumen II has Cumbia, Salsa and Merengue tunes that promise to make this event a dance party.
Rock y Roll Radio has been to numerous El Tule performances and thoroughly enjoys their music and energy. Volumen II definitely takes El Tule to the next level. The band sounds tight and musically the band projects the Latin soul that Cumbias, Salsa and Merengues were meant to have. This body of work is going to open new doors of opportunity for El Tule so be a part of it by attending the CD Release Party and buying the CD.
To give you an idea of what to expect, here's a video of El Tule performing :"Silver and Gold" at Xemumba 09.
Salsa Candela, an Austin dance group, will perform all the Latin dances and thoroughly entertain you. They also like audience participation and will pull people from the audience to be part of the show. If you're a dancer here's your chance to shine and if you're a non-dancer, go for it anyway.
Dj Chorizo Funk will be spinning the tunes as well. Eddie Campos aka Chorizo Funk specializes in "Funky" Funk and you can catch him at all the major events and venues. Check him out!
The end of the year, 2009, is closing fast, so El Tule CD Release Party is one of the events to attend to close out the year. See you there.

60 Tigres: New Video "Garage"
60 Tigres ( pronounced "sesenta tigres") from Moterrey, Mexico has released a new video from their second album, Garage (free download.) It's been one year since Rock y Roll Radio saw 60 Tigres. They were one of the finalist in the 2008 Sound & The Jury battle of the bands contest. The competition was fierce and all the talent was exceptional. The bands were hungry and were giving it their best effort. They all wanted that one available spot at the world renown Austin City Limit Festival (ACL) in Austin, Texas.
"As part of the Austin City Limits Festival, each year the organizers hold a virtual battle of the bands contest called Sound & The Jury. The grand prize includes a slot playing at ACL, among many other incredible benefits.
"Anybody can enter, with the first rounds of competition being determined by internet votes. After voting closes, the finalists are chosen by a panel of judges. The finalists then move on to compete at a showcase at Antone’s, where audience vote and an industry panel ultimately decide the winner."
60 Tigres played "Dentro de mi Cuerpo," "El Arma Secreto" and "El Yate del Amor" which incoporates Funk, Psychedelic, Latin and Punk sung in English and Spanish. Unfortunately, 60 Tigres did not win the contest but all the Latinos that voted for 60 Tigres and those that were present at Antone's that night all felt that 60 Tigres had already won because they were the only Latin band representing "la raza" that night. We were all proud and still remain proud of 60 Tigres and their success.
Enjoy 60 Tigres' video and download the album, free download Garage.
Rock y Roll Radio, internet radio, has 60 Tigres, "Dentro de mi Cuerpo,"#186 on our playlist.

Bombasta: Raza En La Plaza in San Antonio, Texas Septembe 12, 2009
Bombasta, one of Rock y Roll Radio's favorite bands, is playing Saturday, September 12th in the Main Plaza in Downtown San Antonio, Texas from 8:00 to 10:00 PM. The Main Plaza is an excellent location for music. There is a wide open plaza in front of San Fernando Cathedral with ample space for lawn chairs and ample space for dancing. Rock y Roll Radio traveled to this plaza back in March and saw Grupo Fantasma perform. Of course, Grupo Fantasma had the large crowd on their feet, clapping and dancing their hearts away. This is also an excellent Free family event with the evening sun is low and the atmosphere is amazing.
Rock y Roll Radio has published a few blogs with video on Bambasta because they're that good plus these guys are everywhere. They've become an Austin favorite as much as they're a San Antonio favorite. Their music is a fusion of Cumbia, Reggae, Funk and Latin with a dash of "Sabor."
Check Bombasta out, there are ample opportunities in Austin, San Antonio and surrounding cities.
Rock y Roll Radio, Internet Radio, has Bombasta on the "Summer In The City (Two)" Radio Edition, song #21.
